A visitation for Jack Yankee will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Delaware Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Miller officiating.
William Jackson “Jack” Yankee, age 80, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Jack was born September 25, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas to Joel Ross and Peggy Jean (Owen) Yankee. Jack grew up and received his education in Tulsa where he graduated in 1961 from Edison High School. Jack also went on to Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Jack entered the United States Army in 1967 and received his honorable discharge in 1970. Jack was awarded the National Defense Service Medal 2 o/s bars, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star. On January 8, 1982, Jack married Dorothy Lorene Morrison at the Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Wagoner County. Jack was employed by Quick Trip, Wonder Bread, and Frito Lay, where he retired after 25 years of service. Jack loved to work with computers, loved to travel, fish, sailing and spending time with his family and friends. Jack was a member of the Delaware Baptist Church in Sand Springs.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Joel, and Peggy Yankee.
Jack is survived by his wife, Dorothy Yankee of the home, children, Dana Raley and Sarah of Clive, Iowa, Joel Yankee and Sarah of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Damion Yankee of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Mark Miller and Terresa of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Eddie Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shelly Miller and Lindsey of Chelsea, Oklahoma and Firewolf Jeffries and Hilda of Skiatook, Oklahoma, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music selections are, “There Is A Fountain”, “All To Jesus” (I Surrender), and “My Jesus”.
Pallbearers are, David Daugherty, Charley Pearson, Kelly Anderson, Daniel Bradley, John Roby and Kenneth Pearson.
Kaytlinn Blakney will be singing. John Roby will accompany her on guitar.
The family of Jack Yankee entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
