Funeral services for William Henry Thornton will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Skiatook Christian Church with Pastor Trey Harper, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

William Henry Thornton, age 77, of Skiatook, died at 5:10 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at his Skiatook residence.

Henry was born September 22, 1936 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Henry grew up and received his education in Hominy where he graduated in 1954. Henry entered into the United States Air Force in 1954.Henry married Rhodena McFee on November 27, 1959 in Sedan, Kansas making their home in Oregon, New Mexico, Texas and moved to Skiatook in 1971. Henry retired from the United States Air Force in 1974 and served as recruiter for his last three years and was a Aircraft maintenance mechanic. Henry opened and operated Westside Conoco and had also worked seven years in the postal service. Henry liked to fish, go to the casino and loved to work the crossword puzzles from the Tulsa World paper.

Henry was preceded in death by his mother and father and wife Rhodena.

Henry is survived by his four children; Pam Brown of Ardmore, OK, Richard Elledge Jr. of Owasso, Stephen Thornton of Tulsa and Sissy Hand of Skiatook, one sister; Lahoma Sherrril of Depew, OK, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Casket escorts for the services are; Stephen Thornton II, Michael Lord, Curtis Ledbetter, Everett Ledbetter, Butch McFee and Justin Whinery.

Music for the services: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain, God gave Me You, I Got Dreams To Remember and In Color.

Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
