Gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.
Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the First Baptist Church West Rogers Campus.
Vester “Dean” Taylor, age 75, of Sperry went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, February 2, 2024, at his Sperry residence.
Dean Taylor was born April 1, 1948, in Lawrence, Kansas to Vester and Opal Marie (Moore) Taylor. Dean grew up and received his education in Pryor where he graduated from Pryor High School in 1966. Dean married Alleen Cloma Hess on December 22, 1966, in Pryor making their home in Tulsa, Cleveland, Skiatook and Sperry. Dean entered the United States Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam 1968 to 1969. Dean started his Law Enforcement career in Cleveland where he was a Police Officer, served as Sheriff in Pawnee County and was a Osage County Deputy. Dean became a police officer for the Town of Skiatook and ended his career as Chief Of Police when he retired in 2007 after 30 plus years in law enforcement. Dean will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Vester, and Opal Taylor, and by two brothers, Gary Taylor and Terry Taylor.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alleen, two sons, David Taylor and wife, Lyndee, and Joseph Taylor and wife, Traci, daughter, Connie Alsabrook, granddaughters, Karen Lazear, Kacee Gharfeh and husband Majed, Kenyon Lomax and husband Luke and Trinity Taylor, grandsons, Thad Taylor, Dillon Taylor, Barry Taylor and wife, Skylar, Jack Alsabrook, six great-grandchildren, sister, Shirley Giles, two brothers, Twin brother Gene Taylor and Larry Taylor several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
