Velda Victoria “Vickie” (Teehee) Cope

Born on October 5, 1950 (the best year there was)  Left this world to be with our Lord on March 11, 2018.  She was best known as Vickie.  One of her last wishes were for everyone to party or celebrate her life and death.  And if you don’t want to party or celebrate, then just go home and cry a few tears for all of us.  And she wants to thank everyone for being here.

Velda was born and raised in Skiatook, OK.  Went to school in Skiatook and graduated from Skiatook.  Went a few months to VoTech in Bartlesville, OK.  She enjoyed sewing quilts and pillows while listening to her beloved Elvis. You could also find her at any fishing hole.

She was married at age 20 to a great man on June 11, 1971.  She became a housewife and mother.  She was married for 28 ½ years to Steve A. Cope, until his death in 2000.  She became a mother in 1977 to Stephanie Michelle (Cope) Godbey and in 1982 to Jennifer Lynne Cope.  Her pride and joys in life, they will be missed by their mother.

Velda worked in many surrounding nursing homes in Skiatook.  Most of her career was in Broken Arrow at the Broken Arrow Nursing Home, as a Nursing Assistant and also a Medication Aide.  She really enjoyed working at these places and truly loved working with the elderly and taking care of them because she knew she would be one, one day…elderly that is.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Godbey of Skiatook, OK and Jennifer Cope of Inola, OK.  Son-in-law, William Godbey of Skiatook, OK, Daughter-in-law, Michelle Turner of Inola, OK.  Five grandchildren, Tyler Godbey and Kodee Godbey of Skiatook, OK and Rebecca Cope, Harley Cope and Hayden Turner of Inola, OK and best friend Carmen Hildreth of Dewey and by all who knew her as memaw.  They will all be missed by their mother and MeMaw.

Velda (Vickie) was proceded in death by her husband Steve A Cope, infant daughter Christina Teehee, her parents Charles & Hazel (Gaylor) Teehee of Skiatook, two brother Charles Allen Teehee, Cleathus Dale Williams Teehee, three Sisters, Shala Ruth Teehee, Odessa McCullogh, Rossie (Lee) Thompson, one half brother, Lloyd Jackson Teehee and 2 half sisters Evelyn Marie and Marguerite.
