Funeral services for Truett Joe Wilhelm will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Ramona with Roy Shoop, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Truett Joe Wilhelm, age 87, of Ramona, died at 11:04 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville.
Joe was born July 30, 1926 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Joe and May (Carrick) Wilhelm. Joe graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1944. Joe also attended Tulsa University and then on April 20, 1946 Joe entered into the United States Army and received his honorable discharge on August 6, 1947. Joe married Vicki Ranelle Guess on October 24, 1985 in Tulsa and they made their home in Ramona since that time. Joe was employed with Sun Oil Pipeline where he was a gauger and retired after working forty years. After retiring from Sun he continued ranching and was also an American Quarter Horse Judge for many years.Joe loved working with his horses and cattle. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ramona.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father and by two brothers.
Joe is survived by his wife; Vicki of the home, one daughter; Dana May of Pryor, one step-son; Mark Stunkard of Fairland, one grandson; Casden Truett May of Pryor, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket escorts for the services are: Mark Stunkard, Mark Benton, Casper May, Dennis May, Cody May and Wade Leonard.
Music for the services: “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross”, will be performed by the congregation.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
