Funeral services for Travis Wesley Duncan will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Skiatook Church Of God with Pastor William Vance and Rev. Alfred Morgan, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Travis Wesley Duncan, age 92, of Skiatook, died at 1:56 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Travis was born October 6, 1921 in Hamilton, Alabama to John Wesley and Mona Elizabeth (Ponders) Duncan. Travis grew up and received his education in Vandell, Arkansas, graduating high school in 1939. Travis entered into the United States Army on May 15, 1942 and received his honorable discharge on November 25, 1945. Travis married Juanita Carrie Pettit on February 4, 1947. Travis was employed with Otasco where he was a forklift operator from 1962 until his retirement in 1988. Travis was a Charter member of the Skiatook Church Of God, one of the founders, Sunday school teacher for over forty years and was Church Clerk for over forty years.  Travis enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking.

Travis was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers and four sisters.

Travis is survived by his wife; Juanita of the home, three children; Bonnie Mercado and husband Carlos of Skiatook, Brenda Gail Patterson and husband Gene of Skiatook and Rebecca Dianne Wolf and husband Danny of Skiatook, one brother; J.T. Duncan of Wynne, Arkansas, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services; “Meeting In The Air”, “In The Garden” and “Lead Me Home”. Music is performed by; Rodney McDonald, David Patterson, Andy Patterson, Jaimi Patterson and Gene Patterson.


Casket escorts are; David Patterson, Andy Patterson, Alex Mercado, Mark Mercado, Eric Lock, Bo Stotts, Chris Easky and James Perkins.

Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home,
