Tommy Ardell Large

Tommy Large, age 81, of Owasso, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Tommy was born June 24, 1943, in Caney, Kansas to Ardell and Juanita (Dickerson) Large. He grew up and received his education in Copan, Oklahoma. During school he joined the United States Navy and served from January 1, 1961, until his honorable discharge May 6, 1966. On December 29, 1963, Tommy married Linda Kay Jones in Caney and they made their home in Wichita for many years until moving to Owasso in 1992. Together Tommy and Linda owned and operated Kansas Forklift in Wichita for 40 years and Oklahoma Forklift in Tulsa for over 12 years. They also owned a restaurant in Wichita and a sandwich shop in Owasso. Tommy enjoyed gardening, making his own honey, salsa, pickles, and growing his own vegetables. He could fix anything, he enjoyed carpentry and was an excellent mechanic and even built custom trikes out of Volkswagen engines. Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved setting trotlines and spending time at his lake house on Grand Lake.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents: Ardell and Juanita, and wife: Linda.
Tommy is survived by his daughters: Stacey Kelsey and husband Richard, Kimberly Spain and husband Frankie, three grandchildren: Savanah, Brody, and Paige, siblings: Phyllis McCoy, Patsy Waggoner, Mike Large, Jo Prestage, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of Tommy Large entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
