Sylven Marie (Bright) Barnes

Sylven Marie Barnes, age 85, of Skiatook went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Bartlesville.

Sylven was born March 11, 1939, in Hominy, Oklahoma to Noah Jack and Ruby Ella (Womack) Bright.  Sylven grew up and received her education in Nowata and Alluwe. Sylven attended Collinsville Beauty College. Sylven was a cosmetologist instructor for many years. Sylven married Billy Joe Barnes on June 16, 1956, in Alluwe, Oklahoma, making their home in Skiatook. Sylven enjoyed crocheting and fishing.

Sylven was preceded in death by her parents; Jack and Ruby Bright, her husband Billy Joe Barnes, and by one great grandson.

Sylven is survived by her children; Billy Jack Barnes and Lorie Barnes, brothers, Gary Bright and Bob Bright, 3 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
