Memorial services for Sammie Dee Waldrop will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Rowe, officiating. Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Sammie Dee Waldrop, age 60, of Claremore died at 2:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her Claremore residence.
Sammie was born April 13, 1954 in Vinita, Oklahoma to William D. and Wilma Jean (Parnell) Reed. Sammie grew up and received her education in Vinita. Sammie married Michael Ross Pope on June 15, 1970. Sammie was employed with Community Options Hospice group for the past seven years in Chelsea. Sammie liked to fish, play pool, take road trips, loved to watch sunsets by the lake, shopping and being with her friends.
Sammie is preceded in death by her father and by one brother.
Sammie is survived by her three children; Michael D. Pope of Claremore, Trina Sue Bowlin of Vinita and Cheryl Powell of Tulsa, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, five sisters; Billie Slaughter, Wilma Briley, Ann Talbott, Chery Roush and Debbie Oakley, one brother; Bobby Scott and her mother; Wilma Jean Scott and a host of other relatives and friends.
