Funeral services for Sadie Catherine Day will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23rd, 2014 at Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chip Reynolds, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Sadie Catherine Day, our beloved mom went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sadie was born November 27, 1926 in Norfolk, Virginia to Luther Rowland and Florence Corrigan. She met and married her husband Vernon Day in Norfolk, moved to Tulsa. She raised three children, became a Nurse Aide and did private duty nursing. Sadie assisted her husband with his business. Later they moved to Skiatook. She loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting.
Sadie was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Day, grandson Brett Tarvin, daughter-in-law Anita Day, her parents, four brothers, one sister and one niece.
Sadie is survived by her three children, Jan Kitchen and husband Frank; Loretta Wooldridge and husband Richard; son Jesse Day, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Casket escorts will be; Jesse Day, Richard Wooldridge, Butch Rowland, Gary Moutray, Phillip Best and Tim Best. Honorary casket escorts are; Frank Kitchen, Brett Tarvin, George Rowland, William Rowland, Bobby Capps and Sam Woodall.
