ROLAND LEE LUELF

Funeral services for Roland Lee Luelf will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Standridge officiating. A private internment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Roland Lee Luelf, age 69, of Skiatook, went to be with his Lord on Sunday February 2, 2014 at his residence. Roland was born in Washington, Missouri  October 22, 1944 to Melvin and Meta (Mordt) Luelf, he was raised in Hawk point, Mo. and graduated Troy High School in Troy, Missouri. Roland served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1966, upon returning home he attended a joint church roller skating party at the First Baptist Church in St Louis where, while roller skating he fell onto Connie Jeter and fell in love at first sight pursuing her till they were married in St. Louis,  November 22, 1969, the happy couple would have been married 45 years this November. Roland worked in the banking industry as a loan officer and branch manager before being called into the ministry, he chose Oral Roberts University to attend seminary graduating in 1976 and continued his education receiving his Masters in Divinity in 1984. Roland pastured churches in Catoosa, Muldrow, Comanche, Nardin, Talihina, Marietta, Copan, Idabel, and then he and Connie were called into the mission field serving in Monterey, Mexico and the Republic of Muldova, moving to the People’s Republic of  China for two years, returning to Seiling, Ok to pastor and then Retiring from the Methodist Church settling in Skiatook. Both Connie and Roland have served in different capacities at the Immanuel Baptist Church forming Prayer Groups and helping with the Nursing Home Ministry. Roland was an avid reader, loved to exercise and watch Bill Gaither and Friends, high school and college wrestling, playing word games, scrabble and words with friends.

Roland is survived by his Wife; Connie, two sons; Chad Luelf and wife Breanne of McKinney TX, John Luelf and wife Kelly of Houston, TX., grand children; Brooklyn Luelf, Tyler Luelf, Cody Luelf, Bryce Luelf and Harper Luelf, Brother; Richard Luelf and wife Dottie, Sister; Darla Bower, and  a host of friends.

Roland was preceded in Death by his parents and one sister .

Caskets escorts for the services are Corey Westover, Johnny Johnson, Pete Roberson, David McLain, James Jeter, and Dennis Jeter

Music for the services are; “When We All Get To Heaven”, “I’ll Fly Away”

In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests donating to the Missionary Fund at the Immanuel Baptist Church.

Funeral services and interment will be under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
