ROBERTA MAXINE (HAMIL) HAMMONS


Funeral service for Roberta Hammons will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Monte Lovvorn and Rick Harvey, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery.

Roberta Hammons, age 71, of Skiatook, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her residence in Skiatook.

Roberta was born on September 7, 1943 in Tulsa to Frank Clarence and Mildred Maxine (McCormack) Hamil.  She grew up and received her education in Skiatook, graduating in 1961. She married Leonard Troy Hammons on July 1, 1966 in Claremore, made their home in Skiatook. Roberta worked at The Exchange Bank of Skiatook for 37 years, retiring  in 1999. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Skiatook. Roberta was a bone marrow donor for her sister, Patricia in May 1995. Roberta was blessed in October 2003 with a kidney transplant. She loved to do ceramics, crafts, cooking, camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of over 39 years, mother, father, sister; Patricia Elizabeth (Hamil) Caldwell, nephew; Ronnie Lee Latty, niece; Deborah Brockman, grandparents; Horace and Virgie McCormack and Robert and Anna Hamil.

Roberta is survived by her sisters; Eileen and husband Jim Devinney of Tulsa, Wanda and husband Bill Latty of Skiatook and JoAnn and husband Robert Kriege of Skiatook, sister -in-law; Shirley Wasson of Tulsa and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the service will be “The Lords Prayer” “Serenaded by Angels” “Knowing You’ll Be There” “Roses Will Bloom Again”.

Casket escorts for the service will be Phillip Latty, Jacob Latty, Frank T. Hudson, Edward P. Hudson, Tyler J. Latty, Ron Harvey, Doug Crane and Joe K. Eschbach. Honorary escorts will be Robert Kriege, Bill Latty and Jim Devinney.

Funeral services and interment were under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
