Lt. Col. Robert B. “RB” Treat, Jr.
Funeral services for Robert B. “RB” Treat, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charles Hays, presiding. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
RB Treat age 82, of Skiatook, died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday in Owasso.
RB was born February 15, 1934 in Ralston, Oklahoma to Jewel Marie Tyler and Robert B. Treat Sr. He grew up and received his education in Hominy and Collinsville where he graduated in 1952. RB also attended O.S.U. from 1952- 1956 where he graduated with a Bachelors Science Degree. RB married Margot Marrs on September 9, 1954 in Skiatook at First Christian Church. RB also attended Ohio State and graduated from there in 1962 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. RB entered into the United States Army in 1956 and retired in 1976 as Lt. Colonel. RB served two tours in the Vietnam War and received over 15 medals as a Helicopter Pilot and Officer in the United States Army. RB also worked for an insurance company and in 1978 he went to work for Atlantic Aviation and retired in 1995. RB liked to work in his yard, growing fruit trees and collecting music. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout Master when his sons were young while taking them to historical sites and going on camping trips once a month and also having them serve as ushers during the Nixon Inauguration. But most of all, RB was a family man. RB was a member of the American Legion.
RB was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one brother JH Treat.
RB is survived by his wife Margot of the home, four sons: Robert Charles Treat, John David Treat, Dr. Steven Paul Treat and Michael Alan Treat, one brother: Dr. EL Treat, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: Sentimental Journey, Beautiful Dreamer and Will The Circle Be Unbroken performed by Dr. EL Treat and When I Get To Where I’m Going.
Casket escorts for the services will be: Rob Treat, John Treat, Steve Treat, Mike Treat, Elmer Treat and John Marrs.
