Robert “Bob” Breuning, a respected corporate finance attorney, passed away on April 13, 2025, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Born on June 22, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, Bob lived a life marked by dedication to both his profession and family.
A diligent learner, Bob graduated from Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis. He then went on to major in philosophy at St. Mary's University in Minnesota. Bob got a doctorate in law and successfully passed the Minnesota Bar exam at the University Of Minnesota Law School in 1964, marking the beginning of a long and illustrious legal career.
Bob was known not only for his professional achievements but also for his vibrant personal life. He shared a loving partnership with his wife, Rosie Breuning, with whom he had been since 1992. Together, they created a wonderful family foundation that would flourish with time.
He is survived by his children, Kasha Bonnell and her husband Brad, Tom Breuning and his wife Diane, and Rex Kieffer. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Beau, Logan, Grace, Luke, Jonas, Lilly, Justin, and Kacy, and great-grandchildren Keelan and Bryson. Bob was cherished by a host of other relatives and friends who held him in high regard.
Beyond his career, Bob enjoyed an active lifestyle filled with hobbies and interests. He found joy in riding bicycles, fishing, and contributing to civil service initiatives. He was especially proud of his involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous, where he actively supported fellow members in Skiatook. An accomplished individual, he notably ran a triathlon, reflecting his commitment to health and fitness.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving parents, Oscar "Buss" Frank Breuning and Marguerite Francis (Betz) Breuning. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that touched many.
