Rayford A. Hopkins, age 87, of Skiatook went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 12, 2020 in Tulsa.

Rayford was born July 6, 1932 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Robert Murrell and Nora (Green) Hopkins. Rayford grew up and received his education in Henryetta graduating in 1950 from Avant. Rayford also attended Tulsa Vocational Tech. Rayford married Maybelle Hope on March 15, 1952 in Bartlesville and made their home in Avant for 10 years before moving to Skiatook in 1965. Rayford and Maybelle were members of the First Baptist Church in Avant before transferring their membership to the Vera First Baptist Church. Rayford was a former Mayor of Avant. Rayford was employed where he was an asbestos insulator.

Rayford was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Maybelle, one son Neil Hopkins, two brothers; Bobby Hopkins and Morris “Murt” Hopkins and one sister; Lavonna Delancy.

Rayford is survived by his daughter; Debbie Ford and husband Bill, one sister; Louise Maloy  and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
