Ruthie Ann (Shewmaker) Gordy

Ruthie Ann Gordy, age 80, of Skiatook, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma.

Ann, as she liked to be called, was born September 15, 1943, in Terrell, Texas to James Luke and Clara Mae (Dean) Shewmaker. She grew up and received her education in Texas. On April 14, 1959, in Dallas Texas, Ann married Larry Don Gordy and they made their home in the Dallas – Ft. Worth area, and Springtown, Texas before moving to Skiatook. She was employed as an accounts payable clerk and as an assistant vice president for Andrews Transport Co. Ann enjoyed buying clothes and purses, shopping on Amazon, Temu, and QVC, and spending time with family.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband: Larry, parents: Luke and Clara, son: Don Louis Gordy, grandson: James Gordy and one brother: Cecil Ray Shewmaker.

Ann is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Cindy and Daryl Busch, grandchildren: Lauren Renee Gordy Simpson, Karen Ann Gordy, and Curtis Lee Gordy, five great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Ann Gordy entrusted her care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home in Skiatook, OK. Her ashes will be forever placed beside her husband in Springtown, Texas. She will be missed greatly.
