Memorial services for Phil Harry Bowen will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Roy Betz. Private family interment to follow.
Phil Harry Bowen, age 74, of Hominy, died at 5:35 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015in the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Phil was born March 6, 1941 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Lloyd and Leona Esther (Kallenburger) Bowen. Phil grew up and received his education in Sand Springs. Phil married Ganelle Doris Grissom on April 16, 1963 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and they made their home in Sand Springs, Cleveland and moved to Hominy in 1991. Phil entered into the United States Army in 1958 and received his honorable discharge in 1962. Phil was employed with a steel company where he was a crane operator and retired after serving in management. Phil liked watching NASCAR, made his own reloads for hunting, CB Radios and was a computer wiz building hi own computers. Phil was a member of the Lake United Methodist Church in Sand Springs.
Phil was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one son.
Phil is survived by his wife Ganelle of the home, two children: Phyllis Bowen and Philisa Bowen, grandchildren: Sarah Jo Bunch, Casey Huggins, Megan Bunch, Aaron Gray and Ashley Gray, three brothers: Steve Bowen, Richard Bowen and Mike Grayson, two sisters: Judy Woolley and Carole Pray several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
