Paula Jean Washington

Paula Jean Washington, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, at the age of 66. Born on December 9, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Paul C. and Leona A. (Delk) Ragsdale, Paula was a cherished member of her community and a nurturing presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Paula received her education at McClain High School, where she began to cultivate her lifelong love for learning. She devoted many years to her career as a bank teller, where her dedication and commitment were evident in her interactions with customers and colleagues alike. On October 10, 2012, Paula married Dwight Wayne Baker in Claremore, Oklahoma, and together they built a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Paula's passions extended beyond her professional life; she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and knitting, finding joy in the beauty of nature and the satisfaction of creating with her hands. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, who were the cornerstone of her life. 

Paula is survived by her beloved grandchildren: Hannah Bailey-Manen and husband Cameron, Darrell Bailey, Dalend Bailey, Jayde Washington-Alexander and Issac DeFord. Her memory will continue to be honored by her mother, Leona A. Delk-Ragsdale; her brothers, Paul Ragsdale Jr. and wife Kelly, and Benjamin Franklin Ragsdale; and her sister, Maria Sivils.

 Paula was preceded in death by her loving husband Dwight Wayne Baker; her children, Cherie Washington, Joseph "Joey" Washington, and Shawna Washington; her father, Paul C. Ragsdale Sr.; her brother, Wendell Ragsdale; and her sister, Patricia Leona Brown. Paula Jean Washington's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
