Patricia Ann Bennett, known affectionately as Patricia to her loved ones and friends, left this world peacefully on November 17, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Born on Christmas Day in 1936 to Loring and Gladys (EK) McDowell in McPherson, Kansas, Patricia's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and enduring joy that touched everyone who knew her. Growing up in Ellenwood, Kansas, Patricia was the embodiment of the heartland spirit. She graduated from Ellenwood High School in 1954, leaving a legacy of friendship and academic achievement. Her thirst for knowledge led her to further her education at Central State / U.C.O., where she continued to build the foundation for a life full of curiosity and learning. Patricia's calling was as a homemaker, a role she cherished and in which she excelled. She created a warm and welcoming home where all were invited to share in the love and laughter that defined her family's life. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in the simple pleasures of caring for her family and creating a nurturing environment for all who entered her home. Her commitment to faith was evident through her active membership at the First United Methodist Church of Skiatook. Patricia's dedication to her church community was a testament to her unwavering faith and the comfort she found in fellowship. Patricia's passion for rock collecting, reading, and traveling revealed her love for the world's natural wonders and the stories that weave humanity together. Her adventures took her to many places, but she found her greatest adventure in the time spent with her family.
The legacy of Patricia's love for her family will continue to live on through her cherished daughter, Debbie Bennett, and Mike Shipley; her adoring grandchildren, Alee Fifer and fiancé Shane Kidd, Bryce Reamy, Brooke Mauldin and husband Jake, and Chelsea Bennett; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Dylan Reamy, Beaux Reamy, Violet Fifer, Asa Mauldin, Lyla Mauldin, Jala Westmoland, Larryn Kidd, Lynnlee Kidd, and Remi Kidd. Patricia's memory will also be held close by her brother, Mike McDowell and his wife Barbara, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends whose lives she touched.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Patricia is now reunited with those who preceded her in death: her parents, Loring and Gladys McDowell; her husbands, Fred Bennett and Phil Robinson; and her son, Steve Bennett.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the love and support shown during this time. Patricia's life will be celebrated in a manner that honors the extraordinary woman she was. Her smile, her gentle touch, and her unwavering love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Patricia Ann Bennett's journey on Earth may have ended, but her spirit will forever dance in the memories of those who loved her. Her story is not one of sorrow, but of a life beautifully lived and a rest well earned. As we say farewell, we do so with the knowledge that her legacy will continue to inspire, and her love will always be with us.
