Oleta Mae Corbell
Memorial services for Oleta Mae Corbell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Osage Gardens Veterans Memorial with Rev. Trey Harper, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Oleta Mae Corbell, age 89, of Skiatook, died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Oleta was born July 2, 1925 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Osmus Oz and Ora (McCan) Graves. Oleta grew up and received her education in Hominy. After graduating from Hominy Oleta was employed by the United States Air Force as a teletype operator at the Air Force Base in Macon, Georgia. Oleta was on duty when the Air Force announced That World War II was over. After the was over she returned back to her home town in Hominy, Oklahoma. There she met Walter L. Corbell. Oleta and Walter were married on February 6, 1946 in Independence, Kansas and they made their home in Skiatook. Oleta was a Tag Agent in Skiatook for thirty years. Oleta was a member of the Skiatook Christian Church.
Oleta was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband; Walter, daughter; Vicki (Corbell) Wilson and by one sister; Juanita Boyd.
Oleta is survived by her two sons; Steven Corbell of Texas and Brian Corbell of Skiatook, five grandchildren and by seven great grandchildren.
Music for the service will be: “Amazing Grace” performed by the congregation.
In lieu of flowers A memorial has been established in the Memory of Oleta Mae Corbell, those who wish to contribute in her memory may do so to the Skiatook Christian Church at P.O. Box 1030 Skiatook, OK 74070.
Cremation and memorial graveside services are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
