Funeral services for Milo LeRoy Cowan will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Milo LeRoy Cowan, age 83, of Skiatook, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Highlands of Owasso.
Milo was born August 6, 1934 to Jake and Vonda Cowan in Smith Center, Kansas. Milo grew up and received his education in California. Milo married Darleen Avilla on June 13, 1954 in Auburn, California making their home in Sacramento, California. Milo had made his home in California, Broken Arrow and moved to Skiatook in 2000 where he had made his home since that time. Milo had also proudly served his country by enlisting into the United States Army on January 14, 1957 and received his honorable discharge on January 13, 1963. Milo worked for the Sacramento Fire department for 17 years and was also self-employed concrete finisher. Milo liked fishing, hunting and riding his Harley’s.
Milo is preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, 2 sisters and by 1 grandson.
Milo is survived by his three daughters: Debbie Wilson, Cindy Huse and Tammy Robinson and husband Tom, sister: Lorrietha Grant, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “How Great thou Art”, “Amazing Grace”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “There Is No Secret What God Can Do”, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, “I Can Only Imagine” and “She Thinks We’re Just Fishing”.
Pallbearers will be: Denton Eller, Wes Jones, John Peterson, Chad Butcher, James Henderson and Josh Merritt.
The family of Milo LeRoy Cowan entrusted his care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
