Michael Conley

June 3, 1944 — March 26, 2014

Memorial services for Michael Lee “Mike” Conley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Riveted Church with Rev. Jim Stratton, officiating.
Michael Lee (“Mike”) Conley was born June 3, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mike’s early childhood was spent living in exotic locales such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Colombia and Venezuela, where he would partake in many experiences and activities that most people could not even imagine.  Mike returned to Tulsa when he was 7 years old.  He graduated from Edison High School, Tulsa, OK in 1962.
He joined the Army in 1962, and shortly thereafter his excellent marksmanship and combat skills led to his recruitment into the central intelligence agency, where he would serve his country for the next three years all over the world.  While Mike served in many extremely dangerous situations, God’s providence protected him and allowed him to meet his soul mate, and the love of his life, Connie Jo Graves.  After a whirlwind romance and courtship, Mike and Connie were married on December 30, 1966 in Tulsa, OK.
Mike and Connie had two sons, Michael Shon Conley born June 13, 1968 in Tulsa, OK and Christopher Lee Conley born May 26, 1970.  Mike entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in 1971.  Mike and Connie moved to Houston, TX in 1971, where Mike and a business partner established the 4th computer store in the country.  Mike was at the forefront of the computer industry and was fortunate enough to work with two very bright you men who were cutting their teeth in the industry (i.e., Bill Gates and Paul Allen).
The allure of the country life led Mike and Connie to relocate to Skiatook, OK in 1979, where they still reside.  Mike worked for American Airlines for the next 25 years.  Mike received the employee of the year award in 1991.
Mike loved life and everyone in it.  He was just as comfortable talking to the CEO as he was the janitor and he would treat them all the same.  He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge; he was always reading and educating himself about many things, some exotic and others more mainstream.  He always saw the positive in people and continued to encourage others no matter the circumstances.  He was always quick with a compliment or a witty comment.  He was gentleman and a scholar.
Mike passed away on March 26, 2014, and went to be with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ.  His life was a life well lived.
Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
