Maurine Dollarhite Eason, of Collinsville, Oklahoma went to be with her heavenly father at the age of 82, on October 19, 2023. She attended the Skiatook Church of God in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
She was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on September 14,1941 to the late James Andrew and Maudie Mathews Dollarhite. She grew up in the small community of Holly Creek and was a 1959 graduate of Idabel High School.
Maurine dedicated her life to serving those around her. Among other things she served as a pre-school teacher, a bookkeeper, a hair dresser, and a caregiver for the elderly. However, her most cherished role was that of "Granny" to her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She called each one her angel, but in reality Maurine was their angel. Her greatest delight was the presence of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Odus Wayne Eason; her parents James Andrew and Maudie Mathews Dollarhite; her brother Sidney "Sid" Dollarhite and two sisters Thelma Peters and Paulette O'Neal; and a granddaughter, Shawna Marie Holmes.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Wayne "Tony" Holmes; a daughter, Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Merrell, and husband Tom; two step-daughters Patricia Ann Eason and Vivian Kay Eason; her Grandchildren Jeff Wood and wife Jennifer, James Wood and wife Sandra, Jonathan Andrew "Andy" Holmes, Rocky Merrell, Thomas Merrell, Stacie Ryan Corrigan, Megan Ellen Hobson and husband Glenn, Lauren Rebecca Hail and husband Shad, Ashley Ann Garrett and husband Geoffrey; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, October 21 at 2 pm at Skiatook Church of God in Skiatook, Oklahoma under the direction of Sien Shelton Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Watson Memorial cemetery in the Oak Hill Community outside Broken Bow, Oklahoma on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11 am.
Serving as pall bearers are Jeff Wood, James Wood, Chandler Wood, Todd O'Neal, David Marshall, and Tom Merrell.
