Mary Ellen (Cannan) Townsend

Mary Ellen Townsend, age 93, of Skiatook, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at her Skiatook residence.

Mary was born November 2, 1926 in Chestertown, Maryland to Wilbur and Elsie Cannan. She grew up and received her education in Maryland graduating in 1944. Mary married Lewis Townsend in the mid 1940’s. Mary was a homemaker. Mary liked watching TV, had a love for animals and liked watching the cars going up and down the street.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, one brother, one daughter: Cheryl Kirtley and by one grandson Josh Norris.

Mary is survived by her daughter: Marci Townsend, two grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Mary Townsend entrusted her care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
