Funeral services for Marilyn (Thomson) Bradshaw will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Skiatook Christian Church with Rev. Dale Nielsen, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Green Acres cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Marilyn Bradshaw, age 76, of Stillwater and former Skiatook resident, died at 8:35 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Marilyn was born February 6, 1940 in Ada, Oklahoma to Ralph Saunders and Gwendolyn Mae (Wilson) Thompson. Marilyn's father served in the military and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol when she was young. The family lived in California, North Carolina, Georgia, Kansas, and Maryland before returning to Oklahoma. Marilyn received her secondary education in Cushing, OK. Marilyn married Andy Decker and the couple had three children. She later married Jim Bradshaw on January 19, 1967 in Skiatook where she made her home until moving to Stillwater in 2011 to be close to her daughter and granddaughter. Marilyn enjoyed being a stay at home mom while her kids were in school. She later worked in medical offices as a records and insurance clerk. Marilyn liked to draw and loved gardening and working with her flowers. She was particularly proud of her beautiful hibiscus flowers. She was an avid reader, loved listening to country and gospel music and was very active in the retirement complex where she lived. Marilyn was blessed with many dear friends in Skiatook. She missed them so after moving to Stillwater, but truly loved and cherished the new friends she made at Legacy Park in Stillwater.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Jim, one sister: Jolene Smith and by one daughter: Andrea Kay Decker.
Marilyn is survived by her two children: Melisa Kifer and Chris Bradshaw, two sisters: Norma Kay Reeves and Mona Whitmire, one granddaughter: Mackenzie Kifer, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
