Mariann DeShazer, age 71, of Skiatook went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Tulsa.
Mariann was born April 1, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lloyd Vernon and Ethel Elizabeth Jane (Coyne) DeShazer. She grew up and received her education in Skiatook where she graduated in 1968. Mariann then attended the John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, Nebraska where she received her Bachelors degree. She later attended the Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas where she received her Masters Degree. Mariann was employed as a high school history teacher and was the head coach of Basketball and softball as well as coached cross country track. Her teaching career took her from Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas where she spent over 20 years. Mariann was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Skiatook. Mariann loved to travel, go hiking, junking and was an avid O.U. fan. Mariann was also on a traveling softball team known as the Dixie Belles. Mariann will be missed by all whom knew and loved her.
Mariann was preceded in death by her parents; Lloyd and Jane DeShazer.
Mariann is survived by her brother; Mark DeShazer and wife Janet, sisters; Bridget Fielder and husband Todd and Leslie LeMaster and husband Larry and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in the memory of Mariann DeShazer with the Skiatook Paws and Claws Animal Rescue, Inc. at P.O. Box 1033, Skiatook, OK 74070.
The family of Mariann DeShazer entrusted the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home with her care and services.
