Margaret Darlene Thomason, age 91, of Skiatook went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the North County Rehab Center in Collinsville.
Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. Funeral services for Darlene will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dale Nielsen, officiating. Internment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Darlene was born April 2, 1933, in Del Norte, Colorado to Enoch Leonard “Blacky” and Loda Myrtle (Upshaw) Black. Darlene grew up and received her education in Skiatook where she graduated with the Class of 1951. Darlene married John Henry Thomason on March 14, 1981, in Skiatook where they made their home. Darlene was employed with the Exchange bank for over 20 years. Darlene loved watching old westerns, taking long drives and feeding the geese. Darlene enjoyed the good things and always said we should eat desert first. Darlene was a member of the Skiatook First Presbyterian Church.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; Blacky and Loda Black, husband John Thomason, son; Tracy Thomason, brothers; Leonard Eugene Black and Sidney Leroy Black, sisters; Loa Louise Black, Eleanor Eileen Rountree and Betty Herring-Griggs, nephew Johnny Herring and his wife Brenda Herring.
Darlene is survived by her children; Cindy Hughes and husband Chris, Linda Thomason, Todd Thomason and wife Christy, nine grandchildren; Amber, Aubrey, Alyson, Aaron, Travis, Lacey, Jonathan, Tasha, Ashlee, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be, “It Is Well”, “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus”, “My Wish” and "Angel".
The pallbearers are Todd Thomason, Mackey Johnson, Greg Black, Travis Clabaugh, Aaron Hughes, and Nathan Silva. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Johnson, Richard Rountree, Jerry Rountree, Jimmy Herring, AB Bayouth, Jonathan Thomason and Cameron Player.
Darlene never said goodbye or goodnight without saying “Angels Around You”.
The family of Darlene Thomason entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
