Funeral services for Lucille B. Carter will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Nielsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Lucille B. Carter, age 94, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, died Friday, the 23rd of March 2018. Lucille led a long and purposeful life.
Lucille was born on 26 December 1923 in Wauneta, Kansas to William and Maude (Fugate) Wimer. She grew up and received her education in Chautauqua, Kansas where she graduated in 1941.
Lucille met Harold in Skiatook, in 1941. While walking down the street, Lucille was knocked down by players on the football team. Harold was the player who stopped and helped her up. They were married on 7 December of that year.
Lucille enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked for a time for the Oral Robert's Ministry's as a supervisor in the correspondence department. Lucille also was business partner with her husband, Harold, in their television repair business. They continued this relationship in their "retirement" running a pecan cracking business.
In addition to spoiling her grandchildren, Lucille enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and watching John Wayne movies. She was also a crossword puzzle whiz.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents William and Maude Wimer; brothers Donald Wimer and Charles Wimer; sisters Edna Wimer, Jinnie Wimer, and Ruby Wimer; her husband of 58 years, Harold C. Carter; and son-in-law Gerald Webb.
Lucille is survived by children, Wauhilleau Webb of Ramona, Oklahoma; Luschanya Nichols of Skiatook; Harold C. (Bo) Carter, Jr. and wife Doris of Avant, Oklahoma; Nathan Carter and wife Anna of Missouri City, Texas; and Matthew Carter of Skiatook; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and eleven nieces and nephews.
Her 34 grandchildren were the lights of her life and the sources of pride and unending joy.
Music for the service will be If You Could See Me Now, performed by Karon Roberts and Sharon Harper, Amazing Grace, performed by Nathan, Ethan, and Micah Carter accompanied by Robin Edens, and I Believe.
Pallbearers are grandsons Yahola Webb, Thad Carter, Justin Carter, Dylan Pitts, Michael Pitts, Wesley Funk, Ethan Carter, and Micah Carter.
The family of Lucille Carter entrusted her care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
