Loyce Jane Roberts
Funeral services for Loyce Jane Roberts will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Rivited Church with Rev. Jim Stratton, officiating. Interment followed in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Loyce Jane Roberts, age 97, of Skiatook, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Frances Strietel Nursing Home in Collinsville.
Loyce was born November 1, 1915 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Orville and Dona Ella (Baugus) Johnson. She grew up and received her education in Arkansas. Loyce also attended Real-estate school and business school in Tulsa. Loyce married James C. Roberts June 10, 1933 in Morrilton, Arkansas and made their home in Arkansas, moved to Tulsa in the 1950’s, they had also lived in Sperry and moved to Skiatook in 1989. Loyce and James had and operated Roberts Building Supply. Loyce was a member of the North Lewis Baptist Church in Tulsa and the Northside Freewill Baptist Church in Tulsa where she played the organ. Loyce liked to crochet, play slots and loved to go fishing.
Loyce was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband James C. Roberts, four brothers, four sisters, one son: Jim Roberts, one daughter: Beverly Gourd, one grandson; Jason and great grandson: Greyson.
Loyce is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Mattison and husband John of Manford and Cheryl Jones and husband Kenny of Sperry, one sister: Faye Sklar of San Diego, California, ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, eight great- great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Caskets escorts for the services are: Scott Mattison, Patrick Gourd, Mike Hendren, Brent Smith, Scott Hilton and Barry Sparks.
Music for the services: “House Of Gold”, “Precious Memories” and “The Old Rugged Cross”
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
