Visitation for Joan Juby will be held Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Sperry with Pastor Bill Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Lota Joan Juby, age 88, of Sperry, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Skiatook.

Joan was born August 28, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Henry D. and Lota Lucretia (Pifer) Burgess. She grew up and received her education in Tulsa, graduating from Central High School in 1951. Joan married Charles “Cowboy” Juby on October 27, 1958 in Muskogee and made their home in Sperry most their married life. Joan was employed with Sinclair where she was in bookkeeping. She was president and executive secretary for Cherokee Insulation. She worked at ORU as a housekeeper for Richard and Patty Roberts and she also worked for Saint Simeon’s. Joan enjoyed reading, buying Publishers Clearing House, painting, puzzles and she was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Joan was preceded in death by her mother and father: William and Lota, husband: Charles, two brothers, one sister, two children, and one granddaughter.

The family of Joan Juby entrusted her care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
