Funeral services for Leslie Leon Thomas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with , officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Leslie Leon Thomas, age 76, of Skiatook, died at 11:11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at his Skiatook residence.

Leon was born May 18, 1939 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Edward Roscoe and Sarah Elsie (Roberts) Thomas. Leon grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating in 1960. Leon Volunteered for the draft and was drafted into the United States Army in 1956, honorably discharged in June of 1958 at the rank of sergeant E-5. Leon had been employed with Ingersoll-Rand Company, Gas Engine and Process Compressor Division for 23 years and retired from Cooper in Janaury of 2006.  Leon married Helen Ruth Bordwine on November 27, 1963 in the Chouteau Baptist Church. The happy couple settled in Skiatook and started a family.

Leon was preceded in death by his mother, father , wife: Helen, four brothers and two sisters.

Leon is survived by his son: Michael Thomas of Wichita, KS, daughter: Leacia Marie Hisley and husband Keith of Cleveland, OK, five grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “Closer Walk With Thee” and “Faded Love”.

Casket escorts for the services will be: Aaron Cook, Tommy Hiseley, Keith Hiseley, Steve Nichols, Mark Nichols and Earnest Pointer.

Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
