Lela Mae (Keeton) Hamil

Celebrating the life of Lela Mae Hamil will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Osage Gardens Veterans Memorial with Scott Neighbors officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Lela Mae Hamil, age 85, resident of Skiatook, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, July 30, 2020 at her Skiatook residence.

Lela born 3rd of 13 children December 6, 1934 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Lee and Dollie (Coyner) Keeton. Lela attended the Cordell Public Schools. Lela married the love of her life Roy Herman Hamil on June 29, 1959. Lela attended the St. John’s Training School where she became a nurse’s assistant with St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. Lela was later a secretary for American Airlines. Lela became a farmer and rancher raising steers and also operated their dairy until the mid 1980’s. Lela also was a caregiver for many wonderful people.

Lela was preceded in death by her mother and father; Lee and Dollie Keeton, husband; Roy and by nine brothers and sisters.

Lela is survived by her two son’s: Robert Hamil and wife Jennifer and Wade Hamil and wife Angela, three grandchildren, siblings; Truman Keeton, Glenn Keeton and Darlene Purdue, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “How Great Thou Art” and “In The Garden”.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Hamil, Tony Zortman, Allen Simpson, Glen Hamil, Nick Emory and Robert McDermott.
