Funeral services for Laura Marie Johnson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Lay, Gary Yarbrough and Dennis Harrison, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Laura Marie Johnson, age 92, of Skiatook, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Sequoyah Point Living Center in Owasso.
Marie was born September 18, 1922 in Elkins, Arkansas to Deamus Eugene and Clara Edna (Wood) Stillwell. Marie grew up and received her education in Round Mountain, Arkansas graduating in 1940. Marie married Jim M. Johnson September 14, 1940. Marie was employed with Munsingwear for twenty years and was a homemaker of the home. Marie liked to cook, sew, quilt and she loved her family. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Marie was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, one son, one daughter and by eight brothers.
Marie is survived by her daughter-in-law: Donna Johnson, five grandchildren: Frank Rudd, Connie Rudd, Michelle Chumley, Lee Johnson and Lance Johnson, eleven great grandchildren, seven great- great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “Haven Of Rest”, “It Is Well With My Soul” performed by Matt Neighbors, “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace” performed by: Chuck Groom.
Casket escorts will be: Frank Rudd, Lee Johnson, Lance Johnson, Brad Chumley, Dennis Harrison and Gary Yarbrough. Honorary casket escorts: Gary Butler, Paul Willemstein and Dylan Morgan.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
