Funeral services for Larry Joe Keys will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Stumpf and Cara Cowan Watts, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 with Father Joe, officiating. Interment is under the under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Larry Keys, age 67, of Skiatook, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2013 at the Skiatook Nursing Home.
Larry Joe Keys was born on May 1, 1946 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Joe E. and Imogene (Carr) Keys. He grew up and received his education in Wagoner graduating in 1964. He had also attended Bacone College where he studied Aircraft. Larry was in the United States Navy from July 21, 1964, receiving his honorable discharge on January 16, 1967. He was employed with Northrop where he was a machinists, retiring after working twenty plus years. He had also worked for Boeing and McDonald Douglas. His hobbies were motorcycles, fishing, remote controls and building model cars inventing a unishoc for model cars.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother.
Larry is survived by his daughter; Robin Keys of Fair Oaks, California, sisters; Rebecca Thompson of Oklahoma City, Carol Ervin of Bartlesville, three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket escorts for the service are: Ernie Hotwagner, Brian Stumpf, Jim Corn, Mac Ceska, Ron Davis and Gordon Hayes.
