Funeral services for Kenneth “Cleo” Harlow will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Skiatook United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Whitley, Pastor Jerald Freeman and Gary Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Kenneth “Cleo” Harlow, age 87, of Skiatook, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Cleo was born January 30, 1929 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Henry Edward and Mamie Ethel (Watkins) Harlow. Cleo grew up and received his education in Avant where he graduated in 1947. Cleo entered into the United States Navy in 1950 and received his honorable discharge in 1954. Cleo married Bernice Ellison in 1956 in Tulsa and has made his home in Skiatook all his life except while in the Navy. Cleo was employed with Tulsa Fire Department in 1949 and retired as Captain in 1981. Cleo liked working with horses, racing horses and was owner/trainer.
Cleo was a member of the American Legion, Racing Association and the Retired Firefighters Association.
Cleo was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and by two sisters.
Cleo is survived by: his sister: Bea Ralston, nine nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “In The Garden” and “Wind Beneath My Wings”.
Casket escorts for the services will be. Kenny Wise, Eric Johnson, Gary Johnson, Scott Ready, Randy McDonald and Sherman Holt.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
