Funeral services for Kenneth Dale Cooper will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Chronister, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Kenneth Dale Cooper, age 83, of Skiatook, died at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa on Saturday, August 17, 2013.
Ken was born February 22, 1930 in Avant, Oklahoma to Lottie (Donaldson) and Roy Cooper Sr.. Ken grew up and received his education in Skiatook graduating in 1948. Ken married Joyce Green and September 3, 1948 and had made their home in Skiatook since that time. Ken was employed with South-Western Bell Telephone and retired after 27 years of service. Ken liked square dancing, casino’s, going on cruises and OU Football. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Skiatook Scramblers.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother and father, daughter; Gaye James, wife; Joyce Cooper and son; Gary Cooper.
Ken is survived by his grandchildren; Crystal Horton of Skiatook, Brandon James of Skiatook and Kenneth Brett Cooper of Skiatook, great grandchildren; Chanler Horton, Bryson Horton, Bella James and Elli James, one sister; Lorene Evans of Kansas City and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services: “Amazing Grace” performed by Desiree Mackey, “In The Arms Of An Angel” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.
Casket escorts for the services are; Brandon James, Nolan Horton, Kenneth Brett Cooper, Bryson Horton, Tyler Cooper and Nick Cooper.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
