Katherine Lynn Kehler went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ , at her residence October 1, 2015 at the age of 68.
Kathy was born June 1, 1947 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Opal Lorell (Johnston) Bruton. Kathy was raised and schooled in Sapulpa till the 8th grade then moved to Skiatook graduating from Skiatook High School in 1965. She married Robby Kehler and two boys were born from this union Doug and Kevin, the couple divorced in 1977. Kathy worked in Tulsa for many years for a group of attorneys, but decided to move to Florida in 1987. She started a career with the Boca Raton Fire Department as an E.M.S. Secretary and they became her second family. Kathy retired from the fire department due to her health conditions. She moved back to Oklahoma in 1999 to be close to her family. Kathy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Skiatook for many years, she loved angels and was an avid collector of all types of angels, she also loved Twitty Birds of all shapes and sizes. Kathy was known as a person who loved to kid people and maybe give them a hard time. Kathy was quoted as saying when faced with health issues “I’m not going anywhere because I haven’t pestered enough people yet” Kathy will be missed by all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her mother; Lorrell Bruton, sons; Doug Kehler and Kevin Kehler and wife Toni, five Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild, one sister; Judith Bruton, two beloved nieces and a host of other family and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her dad, Lonnie Bruton, and step- father Forrest Rusk
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Skiatook, Tuesday 3:00 P.M. October 6, 2015, under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
