Junior Leo Whinery, age 58, of Avant went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:40 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Junior was born August 13, 1965, in Los Angeles, California to Bobbie Junior and Wretha Ann (Sells) Whinery. Junior grew up and received his education in Barnsdall and Avant. Junior married Brandie Noel Allred on May 12, 1984, in Barnsdall, making their home in Avant. Junior was employed with Rogers Galvanizing where he was a welder. Junior loved fishing, loved the outdoors, spending time with his kids and grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, driving down the backroads listening to his music, and loved to watch music videos.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents Bobbie and Wretha Whinery and by two brothers Michael Ray Whinery and Allen Lee Whinery.
Junior is survived by his children, Brandon Whinery and wife Ashley, Patricia Whinery and Bradley Whinery, sister, Eva Catlett and husband Chris, brother, Jimmy Whinery, six grandchildren, Cash, Parker, Adley, Cameron, Mollie and Kaebrie several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music selections for the service will be “Free Bird” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling”. Family video music is “Daddy’s Hands”.
The family of Junior Whinery entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Skiatook.
