Funeral services for Juanita Carrie Duncan will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Skiatook Church Of God with Rev. William Vance and Rev. Alfred Morgan, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Juanita Carrie Duncan, age 92, of Skiatook, died at 8:11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Juanita was born February 7, 1923 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Charles E. and Ethel May (Stamper) Pettit. Juanita grew up and received her education in Sperry graduating from high school in 1941. Juanita married Travis Wesley Duncan on February 4, 1947 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas making their home in Wynne, Arkansas for five years until moving to Skiatook in 1953 where they continued to make their home. Travis preceded her in death in 2014. Juanita was a homemaker of the home. Juanita liked fishing, cooking, sewing and working with crafts. Juanita was a Charter Member of the Skiatook Church Of God.
Juanita was preceded in death by her mother and father; Ethel and Charles Pettit, husband Travis, one brother and by one sister.
Juanita is survived by her three children: Bonnie Mercado and husband Carlos of Skiatook, Brenda Gail Patterson and husband Gene of Skiatook and Rebecca Dianne Wolf and husband Danny of Skiatook, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket escorts for the services will be: David Patterson, Andy Patterson, Alex Mercado, Mark Mercado, Eric Lock, Bo Stotts, Chris Easky and James Perkins.
Music for the services will be: “Prayer Bells Of Heaven”, “Going Home”, “Lead Me Home” and “Amazing Grace”.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
