Joyce Wenona Brandenburg

Born June 1, 1932 to Kelly and Floris Brandenburg,
West of Ralston near Moffats corner. She died of cancer
and went home to be with the Lord on Valentine's Day
February 14,2015 in the presence of her two daughters
Davelan & Stephanie & granddaughter Kimberly.
Joyce was a long time resident of Fairfax, Okla. She
helped raise her 3 sisters Carole Grimm, Rose Christenson,
and Kay Mickelson. She attended Burbank School and later
received her cosmetology license.
She ran a nursing home in Pawnee, she worked at the
Fairfax Hospital, and ran the Thunderbird for many years.
She was an elder of the Osage tribe.
Joyce was a very charitable woman, who blessed many
by her giving. She gave to the Veterans, the Cancer Society,
the Indian Children's Orphanage, the Humane Society and
religious organizations and many more.
She was a private person, she was a mom, the best mom.
She worried and fussed over us even after we were grown.
She was BEAUTIFUL inside and out. She loved to go fishing,
on picnics, and sunning in the back yard. Watching TV,
heaven forbid you call while she was watching Judge Judy
or the Price is Right. She loved shopping on TV or out of
catalogs. Mom loved her 3 cats and fed all the strays and
neighbors too. They kept her company and kept her busy.
In her last days she had many family visitors who were
special to her. Denny Miller son-in-law from Colo. Bill
Yarber son-in-law from Collinsville Okla. and grandson Michael
Krauth , grandson Jason Krauth and wife Martina from
Canon City, Colo. Granddaughter Kimberly Sweeney and husband
Brian and her two grandchildren Christopher and Adrian
of Collinsville, Okla. Sister Carole Grimm husband Roy and
son Brad Grimm of Ralston, Okla. Nephew Branden Whannel
of Pawnee, Okla.
There will be no funeral or memorial service due to her
request, will be laid to rest at Fairfax cemetery.
She was survived by two daughters Davelan Miller
and husband Denny, Stephanie Yarber and husband Bill.
Three grandchildren Michael Krauth, Jason Krauth and wife
Martina, Kimberly Sweeney and husband Brian. Four great
grandchildren, Trista, Justin, Christopher, and Adrian, and
one great great grandson Clyde [ the little possum ]. Three
sisters Carole Grimm and husband Roy, Arlene Rose Christenson
and Kay Mickelson and husband Vernell. Ten nephews Richard
and Branden Whannel, Danny and Brad Grimm, Kelly and Mark
Mickelson, Terry and Larry Willard, Jim and Riley Bryan, Two
nieces Luanna Carpenter and Betsy Campbell. She will be missed
by all.
