Joseph Charles Wiseley
Funeral services for Joseph Charles Wiseley will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church with Mitch Leonard and Charles Brazeal, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home where full military honors will be accorded Mr. Wiseley by the 5th District Rifle Squad.
Joseph Charles Wiseley, age 80, of Skiatook, died at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Joe was born June 1, 1934 in Jenkins, Missouri to Melvin “Pete” and Estella (Stockton) Wiseley. Joe grew up and received his education in Lone Elm country school and also Cassville High School in Cassville, Missouri. Joe married Irma Darlene Ramsey on December 20, 1952 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas making their home in Cassville, Missouri. Joe entered into the United States Army on March 2, 1954 and received his honorable discharge on April 7, 1960 where he retained the rank of Corporal. After returning from the military back to Cassville Joe was employed with Otasco. In 1964 they moved to Tulsa until moving to Skiatook in 1974 and continued to work for Otasco until 1980 when he opened Wiseley Appliance Service and retired in 2005. Joe liked fishing, gardening, mowing the yard and watching some of his favorite TV shows. Joe was a member of the Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father and by one brother; Vernon Wiseley.
Joe is survived by his wife; Irma of the home, three children; Karen Evens of Broken Arrow, Jim Wiseley of Skiatook and Laurel Linch and husband Bill of New Bern, North Carolina, one brother; Bob Wiseley and wife Nancy of Overland Park, Kansas, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be; “If You Could See Where I Am” performed by Clarence and Willie Ashlock and “Beyond The Sunset” performed by; Hayden Bramlett and Clifford Groom.
Casket escorts for the services are; Charles Johnson, Justin Taylor, Clifford Groom, Don Ashlock, Butch Bodley and Everett Hendryx. Honorary casket escorts are; John Bradford, Aaron Richardson, Wayne Whiteyes, Allen Stumpff and Kenny Inbody.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
