Funeral services for Johnny Rodgers Johnson, age 62, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home chapel with William Scott Johnson , officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Johnny Rodgers Johnson, age 62, of Skiatook passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 in Skiatook.

Johnny was born September 11, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Will R. and Evelyn Francis (Poore) Johnson.  Johnny grew up and received his education in Skiatook where he was a Drum Major. Johnny also attended Oklahoma University where he was a librarian until becoming disabled in 1993. Johnny had also worked on the farm with his father and other family members. Johnny was an avid reader, he liked reading comic books, painting skulls, making Indian Art, and was active with Indian Movements and was a Native American Activist.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Johnny is survived by his four brothers and sisters: Jim Johnson and wife Karla, Peggy Anderson and husband Paul, William Scott Johnson and wife Carol and Randy Johnson and wife Kathy, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Casket escorts for the services will be: Tyler Johnson, Ty Anderson, Landon Johnson, Randy Johnson, Mason Lawrence and Jim Johnson.

The family of Johnny Rodgers Johnson entrusted his care and services to the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
