John David Israel

John Israel, age 84, of Wynona, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday July 11, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
John was born December 14, 1939 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Gabe and Bonnie (Potter) Israel. John and his family moved to  Skiatook where he attended high school and graduated in 1957. After graduation, John worked for the MTR Ranch, Fred Lowery Ranch, and the Adcock family on the Cobb Ranch. In the 60’s John settled in Wynona, Oklahoma where he fed cattle for various ranchers and broke and trained horses . His love of horses led him into the occupation of bit and  spur making.  John enjoyed fellowship  with friends, working with horses,  and attending rodeo events. He was known to all as “Uncle John”.

John was preceded in death by his parents Gabe and Bonnie, daughter Leona Sue Barnes, grandson Ryan Mitchell Barnes.

John is survived by his grandson Jake Barnes, great-grandchildren ; Kaylinn, Jacob, and Ian Barnes. He is also survived by sisters Bobette Williams, Jane Anderson and husband Howard, brother-in-law Ralph Williams, two nieces, five nephews, special friend Judy Hill , and a host of other relatives and friends.
