Funeral services for Joe Ann Pumphrey will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16 , 2015 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Nielsen, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

Joe Ann Pumphrey, age 80, of Skiatook, died at 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

Joe Ann was born March 11, 1935 in Glenpool, Oklahoma Roscoe and Lucille (Delozier) Merchant. Joe Ann grew up and received her education in Ramona graduating in 1953. Joe Ann married Nathan Pumphrey on January 27, 1978 in Skiatook where she has made her home since that time. Joe Ann was a seamstress for Wardrobe Cleaners from 1957 until she retired in 2010. Joe Ann liked sewing, going to music shows, bowling and was an active member  of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

Joe Ann was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, one brother and two sisters.

Joe Ann is survived by her daughter: Lou Ann Brown and husband Greg, two brothers: Jerry Merchant and Len Merchant, two grandchildren: Jennifer McElyea (Dustin)  and Josh Brown (Caroline), three great grandchildren: Mazie McElyea, Jaden Brown and Boston Brown, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services will be: “Stroll Over Heaven” and “Amazing Grace” performed by Karon Roberts and Sharon Harper.

Casket escorts will be: Josh Brown, Dustin McElyea, Mickey Michalec, Jerry Roberts, Wayne Seabolt and John Troppman. Honorary casket escorts will be: Johnny Merchant and Lee Coltharp.

Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
