Funeral services for Jimmie Dale Davenport will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynda Ward, officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
Jimmie Dale Davenport also known as Polar Bear by his CB handle , age 74, of Sperry, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at the St. John Medical center in Tulsa.
Jimmie was born January 29, 1942 in Okemah, Oklahoma to James Alfred and Agnus (Scribner) Davenport. Jimmie grew up and received his education in Okmulgee graduating in 1960. Jimmie also attended college in California for 2 years. Jimmie entered into the United States Air Force in 1963 and retired in 1983 after serving 20 years. Jimmie married Kathryn Mae Kingsland on April 26, 1969 in Great Falls, Montana where they made their home. After Jimmie retired from the United States Air Force they moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where they made their home for 10 years. After making their home in Alaska they moved to Skiatook until moving to Sperry in December of 2007 where they have made their home since that time. Jimmie was a self-employed truck driver owning his own company.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother and father and by a half sister.
Jimmie is survived by his wife Kathy of the home, two children: Jammie Preslar and Angela Key, one brother: Mickey Davenport, four grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A luncheon will be provided at the Skiatook Presbyterian Church at 2nd and Broadway in Skiatook at 12:30 p.m.
