Celebrating the life of Jimmy Melvin Hamblin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2019 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Fire department Honors will be accorded Mr. Hamblin by the Tulsa Fire Department Honors Team.

Jimmy Melvin Hamblin passed away peacefully Monday, September 23, 2019 at the age of 77 at his home in Skiatook.

Jim was born June 29, 1942 to Orville and Ruby (Rector) Hamblin in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Central High School. He was a retired Captain of the Tulsa Fire Department.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Cindi Ullrich and his three children Jimmy Hamblin, Brandy Thornton and her husband Brian and Danny Hamblin and his wife Julie, his sister Jeri Parker and her husband Billy, sister Laversa Dennis and her husband Jim. Jim was an avid bow hunter. He especially enjoyed deer and bear hunting. Canada was one of his favorite places to hunt bear. He was a taxidermist. He loved woodworking. He also enjoyed water rafting. He very much loved traveling with Cindi and going on cruises with her. He was always ready for her to book their next big adventure. A memorial has been established in Jim’s name with Paws and Claws Spacar account P.O. box 1033 Skiatook, OK 74070 or can be sent through PayPal.
