Joseph Jerome “Jerry” Yarnell

Jerry Yarnell, age 71, of Owasso, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, May 6, 2024, at his residence.

Jerry was born January 26, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joseph “Joe” Jerome and Mary (Parks) Yarnell. He grew up and received his education in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School in 1971. After high school Jerry got his associate degree from Oklahoma State University and studied art at the Philbrook Museum. On December 6, 1974, Jerry married Joan Kristine Harris in Ft. Worth, Texas. After Joan’s passing Jerry married Donna Susan Lee on December 19, 2008, in Skiatook, Oklahoma where they made their home before moving to Owasso in 2022. He was a world-renowned, award-winning wildlife, western, and landscape master artist, professional fine art instructor, and host of his very popular PBS TV show “Paint This with Jerry Yarnell®.” While Jerry enjoyed fly-fishing and hiking, his passion was always studying the Bible, sharing the Word, and serving the Lord. He was also a licensed minister and pastored at Skiatook churches.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife: Joan Yarnell, and parents: Joe and Mary Yarnell.

Jerry is survived by his wife: Donna Yarnell, children: Justin Yarnell and wife Tina, Joshua Yarnell, April Stallsworth, sister: Sheryl Dickson, brothers: Thomas Yarnell, Scott Yarnell, grandchildren: Avery, Leeah, and Cindy Yarnell (mom to) to Dayden, Shalom, Seraphim, Ransom, Elym, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jerry dearly loved his 3 rescue dogs, so In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to to Skiatook Paws and Claws (SPACAR)
