Funeral services for Jeremiah F. Whittier will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Aaron White, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Jeremiah F. Whittier, age 66, of Skiatook, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Muskogee Veterans Hospital.
Jeremiah was born August 23, 1949 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Frank and Donna Arlene (Neubert) Whittier. Jeremiah grew up and received his education in Sioux Falls where he graduated in 1967. Jeremiah entered into the United States Navy in 1970 and received his honorable discharge in 1972 and remained in the Navy reserves until 1975. Jeremiah married Betty Jean Schlobohm on December 18, 1988 in Queen Creek, Arizona they moved to Skiatook area in 2000. Jeremiah was employed with various different trucking company’s where he was a truck driver. Jeremiah liked motor cycles not just any motorcycle he loved Harley’s.
Jeremiah liked to read, sometimes 2 & 3 books at a time.
Jeremiah was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Jeremiah is survived by his wife: Betty of the home, daughter: Jennifer Whittier, two brothers: Mike Whittier and Bruce Sutton, two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: "She Believes In Me" and "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone", performed by Sarah Taylor.
Casket escorts for the services will be: Mike Whittier, Bruce Sutton, Sam Jaskar, Geoff McGlaughlin, Terry Reed, Billy Sowell and Michael Robinson.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
