Jeanette Ann (Mckee) Burgess

January 12, 1938 — December 6, 2024

Skiatook

Jeanette Ann Burgess, a cherished matriarch and beacon of love, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Born on January 12, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan, to William and Ruth Jean (Vinyard) McKee.

Jeanette's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family, and her passion for creativity. Jeanette's early years were spent in the nurturing arms of her parents, William and Ruth McKee. She shared a close bond with her brother, Billy McKee, who preceded her in death.

Jeanette's legacy is carried on by her loving husband of many years, Charles Lee Burgess, who has been her steadfast partner in life's journey. Jeanette's spirit of love and devotion will forever live on through her children, Craig Lee Burgess and his wife Teresa, Cherie Nan Thomas and her husband Gary, and Barry William Burgess and his wife Vera. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Christopher, Hannah, and Jeremy Burgess, Tristan Thomas, and Ruth and Deborah Burgess. Her sisters, Mary Niemi and Terry Fraiser, along with her nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Mike, Jonathan, Tammy, Sarah, and Rebecca, will fondly remember her warmth and guidance. Jeanette was also a treasured friend and relative to many, leaving behind a community that was enriched by her presence.

Jeanette's commitment to her faith was evident in her active involvement with her church community. She was a former member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and later found a spiritual home at the First Baptist Church. Her love for the church was matched by her love for teaching, as she joyously taught 2nd grade Sunday School for many years, touching the lives of countless children with her kindness and wisdom. Beyond her family and faith, Jeanette had a passion for crafts and sewing, activities through which she expressed her creativity and brought beauty into the world. Her handcrafted gifts and garments were not only tokens of her talent but also of her generous heart. Jeanette's life was a beautiful patchwork of moments spent loving others, nurturing her faith, and creating joy. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Jeanette Ann Burgess will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will remain a comforting presence in the lives of all who were blessed to know her. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Jeanette Ann Burgess, thank you for the love, the lessons, and the memories. Rest in peace, dear soul. Your light will never fade from our hearts.
