Jean H. (Halbrook) Wilson
Family of Jean H. Wilson will receive family and friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Pryor.
Funeral services or Jean H. Wilson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Pryor with Rev. Rick Robart, officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Jean H. Wilson, age 86, of Pryor, died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at her residence.
Jean was born April 10, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Ruskin and Gladys Ann (McCormick) Halbrook. Jean grew up and received her education in Tulsa, graduating from Webster High School in 1946. Jean and J Clair met while students at A&M now Oklahoma State University while on a blind date and they were married Friday, June 13, 1947. Jean and J Clair had been in the funeral service profession for over 50 years. Jean and J Clair moved to Pryor in 1973 where they were Co-Owners in the Wilson-Cunningham Funeral Homes in Pryor, Salina, Locust Grove and Chouteau. Jean was an active member in the BPW Club and the First United Methodist Church and served on Pryor Ministries for over 3o years and she was an active volunteer and enjoyed tutoring children.
Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband J. Clair Wilson, Twin sister; Joan Way and sister: Jane McClain
Jean is survived by her children; Linda Ann Douthit of Tulsa, Wayne Martin Wilson of Tulsa, Mera Beth Boyd of Pryor, Clair Lee Blair of Pryor, James Gordon Wilson of Bristow, one sister; Marjorie Depoe, grandchildren: Alan and Christina Douthit of Norman, Jennifer Douthit of Austin, Texas, Stella J. Wilson, Sarah and Jarod Smith of Tulsa, Jae Wilson of Tulsa, Alex Simmons of Tulsa, Michael Simmons of Pryor, Cullen and Annie Boyd of Texas, Trent Boyd of Pryor, seventeen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be: “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” performed by; Peggy Raines and Special Music will be performed by the First United Methodist Church Choir.
Casket escorts for the services will be the Grandsons of Jean Wilson.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
